Meet Al

Galiano on a weekend (Island, I mean ).

Myself, two other students and a car full of gear we barely could name let alone understand set off to meet our NASDS (National Association of Scuba Diving Schools before PADI entered the Canadian market) Instructor Tom at his home on Galiano Island off the west coast.

Our first entry was off an 8 foot cliff into the surf, and my only instructions while pouring myself into ridiculously thick neoprene were

"come up slow . . . don't run out of air"  . . .

Learn to Dive
    Train for more . . .

Whether you plan to scuba dive just once, learn to scuba dive as a rewarding, long-term hobby, or join the growing number of dive professionals, it's something definitely worth looking into.

According to NOAA, the ocean covers 71 percent of the Earth's surface and contains 97 percent of the planet's water, yet more than 95 percent of the underwater world remains unexplored. Wouldn't you love to boldly go where no woman (or man) has gone before?

C'mon . . . you know you want to . . .

with life

"Would you learn the secrets of the sea? Only those who brave her deep, comprehend the mystery"

                                   Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. The galleries are only amateur, and full of the vision of friends and dive buddy's infinitely more talented than I. But what vision!

And all the pictures in the world pale in comparison to the exhilaration of seeing for yourself . . .
